Hey all!

If money were no object, what long lasting foundation would you recommend to have as the best foundation for mature clients (HDTV, flash, and event friendly)? The particular woman I am getting it for still has great elasticity, but I do want something that will work for my other mature clients as well. I have Kevyn Aucoin, MUFE HD, Face Atelier, Cover FX, and Armani Liquid Silk Foundation, (don't ask why I have so much) but I don't have much of a window to try all of them on her when I work with her.

Is there any of the above that are better for this purpose than others, or can you recommend some must haves? I do love the Armani LSF but don't know if it is holding up as long as I'd like as a lot of times I am only there for the initial application. I have used all of the above on mature clients as well, and love many, but I have never needed it to last for an entire 16 hour + day.

I have heard Cle de Peau, Sisley, Armani Fabric Skin, La Mer foundation, for "high end" options but I am up for all suggestions. Thanks so much!

DIOR! I have used it on a very important "fashion" lady with very deep wrinkles and sun damaged skin. I was so scared of getting it wrong because i never worked on skin "that" mature, but it worked perfectly and she LOVED IT, she said she felt 10 years younger. Yeayyy! it saved my butt on this one with a miracle!

It lasted for the whole show and it needs a little or no powder at all to set so it doesn't give u the dinasour look within a hour. Sorry i have not tried the brands you have on mature skins but maybe you can get a couple of sample jars from adior counter before u invest in more foundations since u already have so many. x

Laura Mercier creme smooth foundation but use primer though. It will last all day. Apply with fingers only and very little goes along way.

Thanks guys. Right now we've been using Armani and because (I have been told) FA was based after that foundation I was concerned it would start giving her the same shine Armani has been doing after several hours. I will remember to mis with coverfx where needed. Thanks guys!

Thanks Margina. Still playing with the formula to figure what will and won't mix with it. I found a great gel cream that it just sheers down in beautifully but do think a primer would help with staying power. Might try it tomorrow!

Ok, so I tried the Armani with the KA in the TZone today and it looked gorgeous this morning (and still looks good in photos). Only thing is my client tends to get really shiny throughout the day, no matter if I had powdered and set it before I left. Since she has an oily tzone is there something you would suggest that would hold back that shine as long as possible? (Again, she literally will get makeup done and hop on a plane to go to another crazy humid state right after).

It's definitely not something I can touch up later but trying my heart out to keep shine to a minimum. She doesn't always touch up with powder before appearances as I would want her to, but want to see if there is anything on my end I can use or help to combat most of those oils. I know the Face Atelier tends to get dewier with humidity, especially if the person has oily skin, so not sure that would work in this case. The Kevyn Aucoin looks like it was a bit shiny by her noon appearance but was a little better than yesterday's Armani all over the face.

yaby liquid was designed to stay well only oilier skin (like mine) but it still gives a nice finish. to make it extra long lasting just dab a bit of the yaby powder foundation over. Both these products were designed for tricky skin like my own, where products tend to slip off because of the oil.

magnesia trick that Aeni suggested works really well on areas that sweat or bead up with oil easily!

I'm still pushing the CoverFX Total Coverage on the challenging areas. Once that stuff is set it doesn't budge...and it looks like real skin. You might also want to try the Mehron Celebre' Pro HD. It has a really nice soft matte finish. I tested it on myself day 2 of IMATS NYC and it looked natural on my "mature' skin while it stayed put on my oily t-zone all day. Added plus - no one knew I was wearing makeup which means it will work well for guys on camera also.

Liz! I have to try your liquids!! I will give cover fx a go too. I'll do this all on myself first since I tend to have oily skin. If it can hold up on me it passes the test!

make sure she is truly oily in the t-zone and not dehydrated... if she is dehydrated and you continue to treat it like an oily problem, see will continue to have shine problems!

Kind of a hi-jack, but whats the best way to deal with it? Can't really say my school were any good at this type of key info.. I got dehydrated tzone that gets really shiny and no matter what I do none helps
