I just want to make sure that everyone is aware of some simple, common sense rules about this board.
1) Anonymous posting. This is NO LONGER allowed! You will need to have an ezboard account to post on this board.
2) Registered users. Please fill out your profile on ezboard, or include your first name and/or email address in every post. Let people know who you are.
3) Exceptions to the above. If, for some reason, you are uncomfortable with the above rules, you can email either myself or the moderator with a discussion on your intended post, and perhaps we will even post it for you. You can certainly choose to follow up with the original poster privately in email.
4) Spam posting. I will tolerate this so long as the advertising is ON TOPIC. All off topic spam posts, or on topic posts that are repeated too much will be deleted. If you know that the post is off topic, but believe it is of benefit to the rest of us, place "Off Topic" in the subject line. The moderator and I will determine if the post should stay or go.
5) Critiquing. If a poster shows a picture or a link to a website that shows their work, and that poster wants feedback on the image or site, I absolutely encourage you to respond if you have an opinion on the work. Try to be constructive, and also post a picture or a link to your website in response. If you say "It sucks", your post will be deleted. If you say "The picture isn't very good because the photographer used poor lighting" then the post is safe. You can critique the makeup, or ask "why did you use that color lipstick?" or "did you intend this affect?" But remember that we are all here to grow and learn from each other, and to be supportive. Please write your feedback with that in mind.
6) Flaming. This absolutely will not be tolerated by anybody. If a user continually abuses this, they will be permanently banned from this forum. Occasionally we all have bad days, and we say something we shouldn't. When you realize your behaviour, a written apology on this forum will go a long way towards keeping you here as a valued member. Again, abuse this, and you're gone.
7) Nude Pictures. Although I personally have no problem with nudity in photos, there may be users here that are offended by it. Please do not post any photos that are obvious nudes unless it is absolutely pertinent to the discussion you are having or starting. Gratuitous nudity will be deleted on sight, no matter what. Whenever posting any nudes, make sure to use "(N)" in your subject line to warn other readers.
8) Abuse. Please report abuse to me at misha@emelle.net or to our moderator MakeupAnn. We would appreciate the poster's name and the title of the post that begins the thread where the abuse occurs.
9) Job Posts and similar. ALL job posts, classes, and networking opportunities should be posted in the Opportunity Forum. No exceptions. Any post made of this nature to the main discussion board will be moved. If it's a repeat, it'll be deleted.

There is a database being designed that will make much more sense of this list, since it has grown to frightening lengths. Please be patient. Also do keep ckecking back as there will be a beta period when the database is finished. The current list will be there to help us test functionality and aesthetics.
