We shouldn't be so hard on folks that do drastic things to alter their appearances. It's difficult for some people to love themselves because the media and people depict this idea of what perfect beauty is. When you look into the magazines the majority of the models are slender with so called perfect bone structure not an ounce of body fat, long beautiful hair and the list goes on.

Some jamaicans are guilty of bleaching their skins too. It's very common here (men and women and child) I don't agree with it but some of the singers here talk about wanting a brown woman (here a brown woman means someone with very light skin colour almost caucasian). And I have even heard folks saying that alot of the black celebrities in the states don't even look black and almost all of them wear hair extensions. So that is another thing that we black folks want. The long flowing hair. And what causes that? We just need to empathise and try and do our part in ensuring that person that they don't need to do that to be beautiful and if that doesn't work we need to try and just accept them with their new look.

Certain parts of asia people used to break their legs and do surgery to lenghten them just so that they can be taller. To some that would be outrageous but to others it's ok.
