Tips on cheek colour would be not to do it too heavily. Colour doesn't really matter because you will only see it in shades of grey.

I would apply the blush is a contouring manner from under the cheekbones, rather than on the usual apples as this is B&W. Use something neutral in colour and blend really well. If you're really unsure I wouldn't go crazy.

If the photographer is taking polaroids make sure you get a good look at one before he shoots film. You can make any adjustments to the blush from what you see in the polaroid.

With the rest of the makeup keep it natural for the eyes and lips. Take a look at Mary E's site, she has a few commercial pages that will help you colour wise.
