BLUSH is a new 'reality' show about makeup artist on Lifetime.

It definitely looks interesting. I am not sure if it is going to be picked up for more than one season...but I would like to think that it will.

I haven't seen it yet.. is it a competition show like Project Runway?
or just a show where they follow mua's around to shoot the trials and tribulations of their daily lives?

Yeah, I was a bit surprised...even for reality shows most have a positive side...this was really negative.

I haven't seen it yet so im not sure what to expect, but I wanted to ask Bethany why she thinks it is negative? Are they portraying artists in a negative?

Negative in the sense that it just seemed that NONE of these artists were good enough to the judges. They did a contest where they had to use food for
makeup...some pretty creative things While watching ANTM tonight there is a constructive criticism but positive too. And I don't know....maybe I am being
too soft. But it just seems so negative.
I liked it though...liked seeing the different makeup artists and their work. I am just hoping that it gets better.

Im watching this on Lifetime.com now... what is this foolywang nonsense? Why are Myke and Maxi on there?!?!?! This show is some nonstop foolishness and I just
started watching the episode....

Tania is dead on. Folishness with a heaping side of What the??? I was shocked and underwhelmed at the same time. I love me some guilty pleasure and will totally watch a train wreck but it was almost unwatchable. ....well .... almost. The most interesting thing on the show is Maxi's awesome and random "head gear." It looks like next week he has a medieval knight meets Rick James hat thing. Love that. |

I finally caught up on my tivo and watch this trainwreck. I'm speechless. It's pretty insulting that they are trying to sell the viewers that this is
the best of the best. For the most part, people were cast based on who would make good tv and not on talent. I hope Joanna and Charlie got paid ALOT of money
to do this show...

Ok, I also just watched this. This has got to be some of the worst makeup I have ever seen. I don't believe for a second that these people have the
experience they say they do and its upsetting to me that the judges are not being completely honest with them. I also have a problem with the first challenge
and they having to do the hair as well. Its putting it out to the public that makeup artists do hair and it should be respected as a seperate artistry.
Would it be THAT much of a challenge for the show to get actual MODELS for them to work on too? Jeez. |

So glad I followed my gut. I got six calls from the production of this show wanting me to interview for it. I fimally said I wouldn't make good TV, I'm
a normal professional makeup artist who doesn't do drama, and the calls stopped. And the people chosen, one I know and she was definetly chosen for
personality and not talent, and the other one her background is a total farce, never heard of her here in Vegas, small market!

Wow, I just watched this online. All I can say is: tragedy.
That said, I wonder how they got Myke to do it--he seems talented and in the know. I imdb'd him, and his resume is huge--he seems to work a lot. |

I was hoping I wasn't the only one who thought it was a mess. All of the antics were distracting. I'll try to look at it just to understand better how
makeup is evaluated in a competition. Hopefully all of the silliness and foolishness will not be there in the next episodes.
